Cemetery walk

There is nothing more peaceful than walking through the old cemetery over the Christmas season. It is an old tradition here in Iceland to light a candle at the grave of our closest family remembering them during the holidays. This tradition has maintenance over the years, both young and old to participate. Our guide tells you about the history of the cemetery itself and visit the graves of known Icelanders.  National Geographic Jeanine Barone  has named this cemetery one of top loveliest cemeteries in Europe http://intelligenttravel.nationalgeographic.com/2014/10/29/europes-loveliest-cemeteries/.
